Mira Harper Collins acquires second novel from Ally Zetterberg

Mira Books has acquired The Second Chance Bus Stop, Ally Zetterberg’s second novel. Tanera Simons, of Greenstone Literary, sold the North American English Language rights to Meredith Clark of Harper Collins US.

Pitched as for fans of Frederik Backman and Phaedra Patrick, The Second Chance Bus Stop is a multiple perspective novel that follows Sophia, a young woman who is trying to save her uncle’s flower shop; Blade, a devoted son looking for his mother’s long-lost love; and Edith, his ageing mother who is trying to hold on to her memories before its too late.

Zetterberg said: “I am delighted to continue my publishing journey with Meredith and Mira. I loved writing this Sweden set story which has neurodivergent representation and explores family dynamics and second chances. As ever, my thanks to Tanera and Darley Anderson Agency for their support.”

Simons said: “Ally is a perceptive writer and, in The Second Chance Bus Stop, she tackles important emotional themes with warmth, care, and a sense of humour. This is a beautiful novel and I am delighted for Mira to publish it next year.”

The Second Chance Bus Stop is set to publish in North America in Spring 2025. For general enquiries please contact tanera@greenstoneliterary.com; and for rights enquiries please contact mary@darbyliterary.com
